McKesson Better Health Tour

The Challenge

Leaders from global healthcare company McKesson's communications function asked themselves how they could spark a national conversation about the evolving state of healthcare on a local, actionable level.

Our Solution

The McKesson Better Health Tour brought together local healthcare and civic leaders, outside-the-box thinkers, and the media to innovate better patient care and better business health at the local and national level. Participant reviews from the Portland and Boston events were overwhelmingly positive.

theDifference co-founder, David Roberts, helped design what Innosight’s Chatham Sullivan and Evan Schwartz call “a unique collaborative approach to leading the dialogue.” Roberts also took the stage in Portland to help facilitate the event.

theDifference Visual Communications designed conversation-sparking posters and other creative graphics tailored to each stop on the tour. A key innovation was a “Data Dive” interactive crowd-sourcing activity that was customized to each city. Creative Director Matt Sullivan and Lead Creative Colter Lease from theDifference were on site for each stop, providing interactive graphics and creative support to keep participants actively engaged throughout the day. Sullivan and Alicia Bramlett also partnered to make a real-time Journey Map for each city.

The Tour was sponsored by McKesson CEO, John Hammergren, who was a speaker and active participant at Better Health Boston. The intent was to convene an ongoing conversation within and across cities, providing connection points through twitterlinkedin, and a blog from McKesson.com.

The next stop was the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, with hopes to move on to San Diego, Nashville, and other stops in the future.
